(More customer reviews)Put the E4700 into my brother's crappy budget computer. He had bought a Vista OS computer with an 1.6GHz Pentium D, 1GB of RAM, and on-board video. It was just fast enough to find out out it was too slow for anything other than surfing the web. So I googled the spec's for the Intel motherboard to find out what I could put in it (Intel's web site was excellent). I upgraded his computer to the E4700 CPU, 4GB of PC6400 memory, a Radeon HD 4850 video card, and a 450W power supply for less than $400 (the E4700 was $166 when I bought it).Now he happily plays Unreal 3 and Left4Dead, and makes Cds and DVDs; all without crashing, locking-up or waiting forever. If you have a miserly friend or family-member who foolishly bought a do-nothing budget machine before consulting someone in-the-know, do the right thing and help them upgrade.
